Something about this place attracts the by-passers, with its warm decor and home-made dishes. And I've been giving this place 3 tries, each and every time being disappointed. They do have some great potential, and maybe I was just unlucky, as I see some great...reviews here. The food is OK, a bit on the more expensive side, and there is not much variety to choose from. The service, however, could definitely improve. Complete ignore of people sitting outside. Or making me and my friend very uncomfortable when we decide to share a piece of cake, and asking whether we'd like 2 plates and the piece to be cut in two, receiving a positive answer, and bringing 2 forks, saying "it's more cozy this way guys, I think it's nicer that you eat from one plate" huh? We were here on a Tuesday afternoon, this bar was busy with a great atmosphere, greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of staff, after a quick study of the beers on offer we both opted to have a beer from their bottled range and we both chose Augustinerbrau Munchen " helles " these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and we just chilled out and took in the great bar we were in. My beer was outstanding, Augustinerbrau Munchen " belles " is such a delicate, light and hoppy lager style beer bursting with taste,very easy to drink,a beer style I really enjoy, it's a beer I've sampled a good few times ,a really pleasant is one of seriously popular bar and on our visit was packed, but with beers this good hardly surprising really. We really enjoyed our beers in here before we moved on and for a first time visit we were totally impressed with this bar. Tante Emma is easy to locate along Koepenicker Straße ,in an area teeming with pubs,bars and restaurants. A great bar,well worth checking out if your in the area.
